Recently, we had the opportunity to design a major street pavement in London, involving the use of the desert camel quartzite stone. This stone is very similar to yorkstone, a historically staple pavement material in the UK, in terms of durability, strength and water absorption. Due to the quartzite’s minimalist textures and ability to withstand harsh climatic conditions, we put forward a proposal to the London City Council for installing it as the street pavement.
